Welcome to the CIRCLE study by the sea

We are working with young people, parents and carers/guardians to find out what it’s like to get help for children and young people’s health and care in seaside towns in England.

To do this, we are inviting young people who need help for their health and/or care to fill in a questionnaire or do an interview with us to say what’s important to them when they need or get help, what works well and what could be done better. Parents and carers/guardians are also welcome to take part.

As well as hearing from people living in seaside towns about their experiences and recommendations, we are also doing:

  • A review of what support is being offered in four seaside towns in England and what is known more widely about connecting children’s health and social care support in seaside areas.
  • Work to show the value and cost of providing local, quality, connected children’s health and social care in coastal towns.

When we say ‘health and care support’, we are talking about help from someone such as a nurse, doctor, early help/social worker, physiotherapist, youth worker, mental health team, or SENCo, etc. Children and young people may get this help where they learn, at a community centre, family hub or youth club, at a health clinic or GP/doctors practice, or even at home.

The experiences and ideas of children, young people and their parents/carers/guardians are the heart of this study. We are working with advisory groups of young people and parents/carers to hear what is important to them. They’ve also helped design our questionnaires and logo.

More information about our advisory groups here.

We are asking young people and parents/carers/guardians living in seaside towns to do a questionnaire and/or an interview with us. The information shared will help us understand more about health and care in their area and show what’s important.
